Working remotely, I find historical photos for film director, Matt Ruskin, to use as references for the design of sets, costumes, and characters in the film "Boston Strangler," which he wrote and will direct for 20th Century Fox. In addition, I research and write reports to answer Mr. Ruskin's questions about aspects of Boston history and culture in the 1960s, the production of newspapers in the period, and other topics.
As a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow, I wrote two 15,000-word dissertation chapters based on independent research conducted in the museum’s library, archive, and collection of drawings and prints. In addition to advancing my dissertation toward completion, I contributed to the displays hung the museum’s print galleries by selecting works, by composing expository labels, and by providing copy for social media posts.
Under the auspices of Fulbright Austria, I wrote two 10,000-word dissertation chapters based on original research. I scheduled on-site visits to the archives of the Austrian National Library and the graphic art collections of the Albertina Museum to collect data from French- and German-language sources and original works of art. I synthesized my observations into historical analyses and refined them into cogent, evidence-based arguments. I submitted these chapters for the completion of my doctoral degree. Additionally, I generated cross-cultural engagement by hosting community building events in Vienna’s 7th district. I hosted Viennese young adults for events that included performances, media presentations, and regional cuisines.
I led seminars with graduate students on expository writing, historical preservation, and other topics. I led 15-20 undergraduate students in weekly discussion to review assignments and to assess students comprehension of readings and lectures in courses on global art and architecture. I presented lectures accompanied by audio-video presentations and facilitated discussion. I managed the course website used to distribute assignments, examinations, communications. In addition to grading tests and papers, I advised students on designing and executing research projects. I provided a timeline for reading, analysis, and writing that proceed from initial brainstorming to final proofreading. I supported students individually by responding to queries by email, by scheduling progress meetings, and by responding to preliminary drafts with productive feedback. To organize field trips to local museums, I planning agendas, arranged appointments, strategized transportation logistics, and generated budgets.
