  • Crew Leader/Farmhand at Cornelius Seed Corn
    Jun 2007 - Aug 2012 · 5 yrs 3 mos

I did many different jobs around the farm, including moving cattle, spraying cattle, fixing fence, tedding/raking hay, moving hay bales, and other miscellaneous tasks around the farm. During detasseling season, I led a crew of up to 12 workers to the fields and followed them through the rows to ensure they were doing the job efficiently and effectively. Over the winter, I worked in the warehouse bagging corn, stacking corn, rebagging corn, and other tasks. I also helped sort and count corn to be sent for growing over the winter, and I also created packets of corn that might be used to create future hybrids.
