Experience

  • Founder | Director at Redmore Books
    Jun 2014 - Present · 12 yrs 1 mo

I have worked for over 15 years as an arts and culture professional, across four countries and cultures, producing and performing award-winning musical and written works. Within this role I have been a songwriter, performer, producer, creative director, project manager, marketing manager and business owner. After a successful five years as the lead songwriter and singer with award-winning rock band Midnight Youth, I established the independent record label and publishing imprint Redmore Books as a vehicle for my creative output. As its director, I lead the execution of major creative projects; from conception, research, realisation, strategy, planning and fundraising to delivery, marketing and promotion of music, visual-arts and literary products. I am currently an active songwriter and vocalist for Concord and Armada Music in Europe and teach songwriting for Songbirds Music in Amsterdam. Key Achievements: * Winner of three Aotearoa Music Awards and 10-time nominee. * Writer of songs currently totalling over 25 million streams/views. * Writer and performer of 13 singles released to NZ radio since 2008 with 10 of those reaching the Radioscope overall Top 40. * Writer of two singles classified as #1 on Radioscope 100, with The Letter awarded the Silver Scroll for Most-Performed Work of 2009. * Released three Top 10 albums in New Zealand: The Brave Don’t Run (#2 peak chart position), World Comes Calling (#4) and Clouds Are Alive (#6). * Winner of Best Animated Music Video in Music Matters Global Children's Entertainment Awards 2023.

  • Fundraising Officer | Copywriter at Te Pou Theatre Trust
    Feb 2021 - Oct 2024 · 3 yrs 9 mos

I have worked as a grants and proposals writer and administrator, as well as a copywriter, for Te Pou and its artists since early 2021. I have worked directly on grants that have raised over $300,000 for Te Pou Theatre Trust since July 2022; not an insignificant amount for a performing arts charity. In this role, each fundraising proposal is treated as a project which demands high levels of strategic planning, research, accuracy and efficient, often time-pressured, communication and execution. This role also encompasses reporting, digital asset management and an ability to represent and tell the stories of artists and an organisation with a keen sense of cultural sensitivity. Copywriting I have undertaken for company documentation and reporting has helped support the trust in its efforts of maintaining steady growth in fundraising targets since July 2022.
