Takeda's Emerging Markets Region covers: Latin America, China and the rest of Asia Pacific, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East, and Africa. I am responsible for several initiatives across the Region: • Internal investigations • Third party due diligence • Developing and implementing an ethical assessment tool to administer to all prospective job candidates • Producing a communications campaign across all of our markets (9,000 employees) to encourage a culture of values-based (rather than transactional) decision-making • Analyzing Takeda's Sales Force compensation formulas to ensure that incentives in each of our markets encourage behaviors that increase patient access to medicines but are balanced so as to reduce risk of improper selling tactics I also sit on the core team for the development and implementation of Takeda's upcoming new Global Corporate Code of Conduct.

Promoted twice during my three years at the company with each successive position encompassing significant increases in subject matter and people management responsibility. • Head of the Litigation, Employment & Legal Operations Department comprised of 22 professionals • Responsibilities: commercial and products liability litigation, employment law and litigation, export controls, government investigations, qui tam/whistleblower cases, False Claims Act, FCPA, risk management and insurance programs, records management, e-discovery, new product litigation risk assessments, legal project management, budget management and legal cost control, and advising on IP and patent litigation • Recognized point of authority and trusted advisor and business partner to the U.S. Executive Team and Global Executive Management in Copenhagen Among my signature achievements: • Personally negotiated a settlement with another publicly-traded pharmaceutical company that resulted in a net gain to Novo Nordisk of approximately $20M ($12M cash and forgiveness of $8M in debt) • Implemented a comprehensive external counsel cost control project resulting in a capped-fee arrangement in majority of U.S. legal matters • Successful management of mass tort products liability litigation resulting in no payments by Novo Nordisk In Dec 2013, I was offered a General Counsel position and made the difficult decision to leave this wonderful company to continue my development as a strategic in-house lawyer and to gain more experience as a day-to-day business advisor across a broader array of legal issues.
