Bankrate is a leading publisher and aggregator of personal finance content. Bankrate provides consumers with fully researched, comprehensive, and objective personal finance content across multiple vertical categories including mortgages, deposits, insurance, credit cards, retirement, and auto. Following Quizzle's acquisition, I transitioned into a role at our parent company, Bankrate, to lead their cloud and DevOps initiatives. Shortly after, I inherited our B2C Engineering team and later stepped in to lead engineering for our Deposits business. My time at Bankrate has been spent growing multiple businesses, advancing our engineering culture, and modernizing a historically brittle technology stack. Bankrate was acquired by Red Ventures in November of 2017 for $1.4 billion. Over the year following our acquisition, I expanded my scope to lead our Detroit location and eventually was tasked with leading engineering for the entire Bankrate business.
Quizzle.com is a personal finance web site helps Americans gain a full understanding of their credit and finances. I spent my time at Quizzle both working within and leading the Software Engineering team to help bring the company's technology to profitability. I, along with a team of talented engineers, helped migrate Quizzle.com from an internally-managed stack to an open-source alternative fully running in the cloud. We grew the product to support thousands of daily registrations, millions of active accounts, and increasing partnership demand. My work at Quizzle helped scale the technology team and business to profitability, which ultimately culminated in the company's acquisition by Bankrate, Inc. five years later. I continued to operate as Quizzle's Chief Technology Officer following the acquisition under new ownership. Shortly after, I transitioned into a role as Vice President of Engineering at our parent company, Bankrate.com, to support the organization's increasing technology needs.
Developed and maintained multiple direct marketing applications which supported fully customizable direct mail and email campaigns. Supported each white-label implementation of the company's marketing application, which was branded for over 80 independent clients. Consumed and developed numerous web services and APIs to enhance targeted marketing campaigns across our platforms.
