As Senior Technical leader, I’ve had the privilege of leading Staff engineers from Mobile, Front-end, and Backend backgrounds, guiding them to work as a unified team that strengthened our practices and architecture. I collaborated with leaders from Engineering and Product to revamp Domain Driven Design and to introduce Team Topologies. Together, we reshaped how our Engineering, Product, and Design teams work, aligning them more closely with our business goals and improving collaboration. Collaborating with the CPTO and our Engineering, Product, and Design leaders, I shape strategies and workflows that unite diverse talents toward shared success. My mission? Working under the supervision of the Head of Software engineering, I focused on balancing delivery speed, quality, and technical debt—providing architectural direction, tackling ownership gaps, and simplifying complexity for better developer experience. My role was to empower teams with tools, processes, and collaboration, ensuring sustainable systems over firefighting. I bridged topic teams and leadership, evangelizing technical improvements while fostering a culture of shared knowledge and accountability. Together with leaders from Engineering and Product, we reshaped how our Engineering, Product, and Design teams work with Domain Driven Design and Team Topologies, aligning them more closely with our business goals and improving collaboration.
For two years, I led five engineering teams of ~55 engineers spread over Europe, managing five engineering managers across backend, frontend, and mobile expertise. I championed people leadership, driving a vibrant culture while overseeing engineer growth, guild development, and career-defining engineering ladders. Reporting to the CTO, I partnered with Heads of Delivery, Platform, and Operations, contributing to Engineering Leadership to steer collaboration with Product and Design, lead transformative changes, and shape the engineering roadmap—empowering teams to thrive and innovate.
For three years, I served as Head of Operations, reporting to the CTO and shaping the Engineering Leadership team. I sharpened my ability to lead through influence, transforming on-call into a volunteer-driven model—balancing cost and purpose with business goals—while deploying Grafana and Prometheus for real-time insight across Kubernetes and legacy systems, securing SLA success for a leading marketplace. I fostered a blameless culture with postmortems, co-led our bare-metal-to-Google-Cloud migration with the Head of Platform, and drove innovation alongside the CTO, Head of Delivery, and Head of Platform. As Head of Platform under the CTO, I led a team of 7 DevOps engineers to build a cloud-native platform from scratch in 7 months, deploying our first service to production in just 5 months using Docker, Kubernetes, and a modern CI/CD pipeline—running alongside our 18-year-old legacy system. It was an electrifying journey of innovation, laying a scalable foundation to phase out our monolith. By integrating Kafka and Twelve-Factor principles, we created a robust, future-ready architecture that unlocked new levels of agility and growth. I’m driven by building high-performing teams and systems where vision meets execution.
For around 5 years, I served as the Manager of the local subsidiary of Ricardo AG in France, overseeing operations, leading a dedicated team to achieve company objectives and managed the French development center of the company. During this time, I honed skills in subsidiary management, accounting, payroll, local team motivation, and supplier management.
After QXL Ricardo PLC acquired Aucland, I took on the role of a versatile lead engineer, working across software development, network infrastructure, scalability, and databases. Driven by passion, I led key initiatives, including the successful migration of 15 European auction websites to our platform within just three months. I also co-led the seamless relocation of our datacenter infrastructure from Paris to Zurich, achieving near-zero downtime.
Joined Aucland, a pioneering French auction startup, as software engineer during the early days of eCommerce.
