The strategy combines expertise in both credit and private equity investing and seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns by targeting investments with significant upside potential, buying assets below their intrinsic value, and improving both operations and capital structure.
Argan is a mid-market pan European private equity fund investing on a generalist basis. It was the result of the spin-out from BA Capital Partners Europe (Bank of America) in 2006. I was Partner and CFO/COO, and also on the board as a non-executive director of three portfolio companies. My role covered financial reporting,tax structuring and compliance and deal support, including refinancing of the portfolio companies. As well as being on the board of the Fund general partner, I was also responsible for the fund structuring during the spin-out and subsequently took on an investor relations role. I was involved in the secondary fundraising.
Was the CFO of BA Capital Partners Europe, a pan European mid-market private equity fund. Bank of America was the sole LP prior to the spin-out in 2006, which became Argan Capital (above). I was instrumental in the spin-out process alongside the three Managing Partners.
