Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
I’m an architect by profession but designer at heart. A partner and design lead with io-consultants for longer over 26 years. I grew up in southern California of British parents, moved to Brighton UK in the 70’s to study there at Brighton University, became member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1985. I worked for a number of years with a large British architecture firm in London until the opportunity arose in ‘91 to move to HongKong with my wife where I took up the challenge as one of the lead architects designing the ChekLapKok International Airport. There I first met io-consultants designing with them the then largest flight catering facility in the world for Cathay Pacific Catering Services. By ‘96 the job in HK was finished and io-consultants opened a completely new door here in Heidelberg for me now with one and soon to be 2 daughters. This new challenge has over the years given me the opportunity to learn German, work first hand with world class engineers and develop together with our great team, our unique philosophy of holistic design for industry. Continuing to look forward we have been able to pursue my career-long passion of building more intelligently, efficiently, flexibly, economically and sustainably.
