As Legal Counsel for Tune Protect Group Berhad, I provide legal services to seven corporate entities, each covering a different focus area within the Group, including general insurance, reinsurance, and technology, both locally and overseas. Part of my role is to communicate legal issues and risks with members of the Executive Committee and the Board, provide holistic legal advice to the business units, structure commercial arrangements, draft and review contracts, prepare announcements and reports to Bursa Malaysia, manage litigation, and provide pre-litigation advice. In addition to my regular duties, during my time here, I also initiated several projects including the development of comprehensive contract templates to be implemented across the group, the establishment of a digital system for managing over two thousand physical agreements, the streamlining of the company's contract review and drafting processes, the drafting of legal policies and processes, the sourcing and implementation of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, and the drafting of templatised compliance and governance clauses relating to anti-bribery and anti-corruption, personal data protection, whistleblowing, BNM compliance, among others.
Under LAW Partnership's Corporate, Commercial, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group, I assisted clients, both private and publicly traded, with mergers and acquisitions, property purchases and sales, as well as matters related to corporate restructuring. I also assisted with drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, providing advice on supply chain management, procurement, licensing and regulatory compliance and on issues relating to international trade, financing, joint ventures, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). On a retainer basis, I also served as in-house counsel to a public listed company involved in renewable energy, healthcare, and commercial trade; where I reviewed/drafted agreements and advised the company's board of directors, as well as its respective departments for Finance, Energy, IT, and Strategy and Sustainability, on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. I was given the opportunity to work with both international and domestic clients in a variety of industries, including e-commerce, telecommunications, finance, wholesale and retail, services, manufacturing, and mining.
Helped with our client's corporate litigation files. My experience here includes drafting, legal research, and producing legal advice. I also managed general litigation files and prepared content for the firm's various talks.
