-Directly manage 9 detectives who are responsible for investigating major crimes such as homicide, rape, assault, as well as crime scene processing and documentation. -Experienced, multi-unit leader of detectives, critical response detectives, crime scene investigators, and civilians. -Leads the Agency's regional response team who responds to major critical incidences (e.g. officer involved shootings) in Jefferson County. -Organize, delegate, and provide oversight to team ensuring all referrals are reviewed and addressed according to internal and external standards & deadlines. -Executes special tasks as assigned by Unit Commander (e.g. office remodel). -Provides leadership and expert consultation to other Unit leaders as needed for more complex cases. -Provides supervisory review and correction for Unit's incident reports, ensuring each report is clear, concise, and accurate meeting internal and external standards. -Manage the CSI Unit's annual budget including all operating expenses and training costs. -Collaborate with crime analysts to gather, interpret, and use complex data to develop action plans. -Identified and created a training and development day between the Agency and District Attorney's office that has become a reoccurring event.
Ensured the safety and security of up to 96 inmates within a unit. Supervised minimum security inmates performing custodial duties within the unit (cleaning, laundry exchange, medicine distribution). Took varied levels of discipline when needed to include, verbal counseling, removal from the unit, and written reports. Responded to physical disturbances and medical emergencies with the facility as needed. Responsible for safety and security of inmates while being treated and transported to and from local hospitals. Responsible for safety and security of inmates while attending court hearings both inside and outside the facility.
-Supervised & maintained security of 10-15 inmates, who perform various custodial tasks in the detention facility (lawn care, cooking, laundry, etc) for other inmates. -Responsible for managing and ordering supplies. Responsible for preparing the facility for Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) inspection.
-Liaison between the court and client collecting & documenting information for cases and legal agreements. -Responsible for assisting multiple attorneys. -Prepared daily and monthly reports for attorneys. -Responsible for covering all non-attorney positions (during sick, vacation, vacancy).
