I'm an IT Security Consultant with a Master's in Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology from the University of Antwerp. I’m passionate about technology, problem-solving, and continuous learning. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and following football, a long-time personal interest. In my role as a software engineer, my interest in cybersecurity, especially application security, has grown significantly. With the rise of AI, I strongly believe that cybersecurity and secure development practices will become even more critical in the near future. That’s why I decided to become a member of OWASP: to expand my knowledge and actively engage with a community that shares the same vision and values around building secure software.
After completing my master’s degree, I started working full-time at the company where I had already gained experience as a student employee. Taking on a full-time role came with increased responsibilities. I became a key member of the Marketing Cloud team, focusing on developing automated and personalized email campaigns. I also took on the role of lead developer for several clients, which involved weekly meetings to discuss new features and project status updates. In addition, I am actively involved in the full project lifecycle, from analysis to implementation and aftercare.
While completing my master’s degree, I had the opportunity to work as a Software Engineer and apply the knowledge I gained throughout my studies. My responsibilities included maintaining the Salesforce architecture for various clients, handling support requests, and developing new features. This role also gave me the chance to engage in my first in-depth conversations with end users.
During my master’s thesis, I completed a research internship focused on Artificial Intelligence for anticipating human behavior. My goal was to investigate whether it was possible to develop an AI capable of predicting and countering irrational human behavior. I independently designed and executed the entire research project, choosing to base it on a game where players influence each other, often leading to irrational decisions. I developed an AI agent that could anticipate and counteract this behavior. The findings of this research were published and presented at the 3PGCIC-2024 conference.
