About

Hi! I’m Jente Onderwater — a driven and versatile young professional currently living in Madrid and preparing to begin my Bachelor’s in Psychology at UNIE Universidad in September 2025. Over the past few years, I’ve built strong experience in hospitality, retail, childcare, and watersports instruction. I’ve worked in cafés, bakeries, restaurants and sailing schools, always with a hands-on, people-first mindset. Whether I’m coaching kids on the water, serving guests in a fast-paced team, or helping customers with a smile, I enjoy learning, growing, and creating positive experiences for others. I’m passionate about human behavior, psychology, and cultural exchange, and I’m excited to develop myself further in international settings. Let’s connect!

  • Serveerster at Barista Cafe Holding B.V.
    Oct 2024 - Apr 2025 · 7 mos

As an all-round hospitality team member at Barista Café, I worked in a dynamic daytime café environment, serving guests with care and efficiency. My responsibilities included mostly taking and delivering orders but also preparing specialty coffees and drinks, operating the cash register, and ensuring the café stayed clean and welcoming throughout the day. I also supported kitchen and dishwashing tasks when needed. This role strengthened my multitasking, customer service, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, people-focused setting. I loved my divers role and the fast pace of the hospitality work.

  • Maatschappelijk werker at Leythenrode & Oudshoorn, verpleeghuizen van Alrijne
    Oct 2024 - Apr 2025 · 7 mos

I worked as a resident support assistant in a care home for elderly people with various needs, including physical disabilities and dementia. My responsibilities included helping with personal care (such as dressing, eating, and bedtime routines), preparing and serving meals, housekeeping, changing and making beds, and running errands like grocery shopping. I worked both morning and afternoon shifts and supported households of 8 to 12 residents. I also spent meaningful time with the residents — playing games, chatting, or simply keeping them company. This job taught me a lot about empathy, patience, and the importance of being present in someone’s daily life.

  • Verkoopster at Firma Zonneveld's Bakkerij
    Aug 2023 - Oct 2024 · 1 yr 3 mos

At Zonneveld’s bakery shop, I was responsible for slicing and selling bread, cakes, pastries, and bonbons. I also took care of the coffee corner and the small terrace attached to the shop. Most of my shifts were during the busy afternoons, where I managed customer service, handled the cash register, maintained cleanliness, and closed the shop at the end of the day. In this role, I learned a lot about different types of bread and pastries, how to interact with customers, how to operate a cash register, and how to pack bonbon gift boxes in the most beautiful and careful way. I especially enjoyed building a connection with our regular customers and working with all the high-quality, homemade products the bakery offered!
