"PhD researcher in the field of digital finance who specializes in explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) focusing on making AI systems more explainable in (high-stakes) financial applications. Through my research combination of AI and finance, I try to create valuable insights from complex data that would support better decision-making in the financial industry. Jens (Johann) is currently part of the MSCA (Marie Skลodowska-Curie Actions) doctoral (PhD) network funded by Switzerland & the European Union on digital finance working on XAI in finance. Next to pursuing the PhD, Jens has two MSc degrees in the areas of (i) Financial Engineering & Management and (ii) Data Science & Business / Enterprise Architecture & IT Management. Moreover, his BSc in Electrical Engineering forms an ideal basis for technical problem solving within the financial industry. His technical proficiency spans across a diverse range of programming languages and mathematical knowledge. Next to technical expertise, he excels in communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a proven ability to work independently and/or collaboratively. This is demonstrated through various projects, publications, and positions at companies (European Central Bank, ING, Triple A - Risk Finance, among others), aiming to support his interests. His passion in the area of digital finance makes him eager to leverage his skills and passion in this field.
