I have spent most of my professional life in the financial sector, but recently I have also ventured into telecom. Currently I am the Chair of the Board of Directors at Telenor and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at DNB where I also chair the Risk Management Committee. Prior to that I spent 10 years with Danske Bank mainly in various management positions. Among these were heading up the capital markets effort, which provided advisory services to corporate clients across the Nordics within mergers & aquisitions and equity and debt issuance. I also spent about 10 years with Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM). I was part of the build up of NBIM from the beginning acting mainly as a portfolio manager but also later as the Head of the New York office. I have my education from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and London Business School. The main subject all along has been finance. I grew up in Oslo and I am married with two children. Due to the careers of both myself and my wife, who is in the Norwegian foreign service, I have spent more than half my adult life abroad in London, Mexico City, New York, Copenhagen, Bangkok and Bern. I currently reside in Oslo.
