Profit & Loss responsibility for Terex Compact Equipment business in Germany with 180M US$ revenue and 600 employees, producing tunnel excavators, mini/midi excavators, small, medium and heavy wheeled loaders, fuel & hydraulic tanks and hydraulic cylinders in 4 locations in Southern Germany. After being able to release a major investment in early 2010 to improve the Manufacturing footprint, consolidation of all German manufacturing into one location with high vertical integration including steel fabrication, paint and final assembly. Further consolidation of non-core business and administrative functions in process throughout 2011. In January 2011 successful completion of all production & engineering consolidation into one single location.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Terex Business System across all European Construction facilities (10) and the associated supporting departments. Development of business targets, deployment of TIP’s (Terex Improvement Workshop), development of standard business practices in Production, R&D and Administration. In a second position Program Director of TraCE (Transformation Central Europe), responsible to define and deploy a new Manufacturing Footprint for Germany 2009-2012 with all restructuring activities associated.
International Service Assignment in Novy Jicin, Czech Republic: P&L responsibility for a Manufacturing Plant of Rear Lighting Products serving major European and International OEM’s. Technologies include Injection Molding, Metalizing, Welding and Final Assembly. Product range includes standard bulb Rear Lamps, LED and Light guide technology as well as Projector unit assembly (AFS, BiHID) for Headlamps. Plant headcount: 800 people, Revenue: 100m US$/year.
International Service Assignment in Novy Jicin, Czech Republic: Manufacturing Business Office (MBO) is responsible for the development of a global Manufacturing strategy for Lighting with main focus on highest possible efficiency and productivity. Manufacturing support of new Business Quotes, Make or Buy studies. Fully accountable for Budget preparation, Capital optimization, capacity planning, Appropriation Request preparation and development of ideal value stream designs with specific focus on lean manufacturing principles. Furthermore responsible with my team to globally standardize and implement the Operational Excellence (OPEX) process and to support the plants optimizing their continuous improvement processes. Identification and prioritization of actions to improve the overall performance of Lighting in collaboration and alignment with the plant OPEX Coordinators, the Plant Managers and the responsible Manufacturing Director.
