JENNY O’BRIEN is President of BlackBridge Advisors, advising private equity firms and organizations on regulatory, governance and complex operational issues. She is an operator at the core and brings perspectives through the lens of regulator, board member, executive, and shareholder. Most recently, Jenny was the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Chief Compliance Officer where she was a member of the Executive Leadership Team and accountable for creating a national compliance strategy for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial, and Employer products. Prior to executive leadership at the Fortune 5 company, Jenny was a Partner in a regional law firm and served as Adjunct Professor of Health Law at both Mitchell Hamline and University of St. Thomas Schools of Law. Additionally, she served as Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer for Allina Health and has held government positions as a Minnesota Assistant Attorney General and staff member in the Minnesota Senate. Jenny is available for board roles and serves on the Board of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) as Vice Chair and Chair of the Stewardship & Integrity Committee. She is also on the St. Charles Health System Board and Chair of the Safety & Quality Committee, as well as an advisory board member for both Stellar Health and YouCompli. Jenny is also past President of the Health Care Compliance Association/Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics (HCAA/SCCE), an international compliance and ethics association. Jenny received a MS from Dartmouth, JD from the William Mitchell College of Law, and BA in Journalism from the University of St. Thomas. She is certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) & Privacy (CHPC) and sits on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Health Care Compliance. She is a frequent contributor to industry publications and speaker at national and global legal, compliance, and risk conferences.
