Jennifer Nguyen shepherds companies through the most pivotal phases of their evolution, from startup to high-growth to measured expansion. Appointed Chief Financial Officer of Bellwether Housing in 2023, she brings three decades of real estate finance and capital markets experience. Previous roles in investment banking, commercial banking, and investment management complement her affordable housing background. Bellwether is Seattle’s largest not-for-profit affordable housing provider. Founded in 1980, the organization currently serves over 6,000 residents through development, property management, and resident services. Jennifer oversees finance, accounting, asset management, risk management, and information technology for Bellwether and its subsidiaries and affiliates. Prior to Bellwether, she was Chief Financial Officer of Community Development Partners, a for-profit affordable housing developer operating in five states. Jennifer previously served as a Director at Ally Financial and its predecessor GMAC, where she structured and managed real estate debt and equity transactions with a combined basis exceeding $4 billion. Preceding Ally, she worked in Deutsche Bank’s real estate investment banking group, underwriting projects for several funds co-invested with the nation’s largest public pension agency. Jennifer holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she served on the John Wooden Center Board of Governors.

Founded in 1980, Bellwether currently serves over 6,000 residents through housing development, property management, and resident services. • Oversee all finance, accounting, asset management, risk management, and information technology functions.

  • Chief Financial Officer at Community Development Partners

    Community Development Partners is a multi-state developer/owner/operator of multifamily and mixed-use communities. • Recruited by founding team to transform the finance function from startup-state to institutional standards. • Implemented and administered policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risk, streamline processes, and scale for growth. • Brought the company to audit-readiness a year after restating all legacy financials from inception. • Initiated an ERP implementation in year two; substantially completed it by year three. • Developed and carried out tax-efficiency strategies.
