Twelve years in oil and gas industry providing technical support and data analysis to various upstream teams by extracting, transforming, normalizing, and modeling complex data sets and types from internal and external sources. Use data to build BI reports/dashboards, develop KPIs, generate shapefiles/maps, and statistical multivariate analysis studies for C-suite to make informed decisions on acquisitions, divestitures, and evaluate production lookbacks and portfolio performance. Also used as ground level input to prioritize and streamline drilling plans, pipeline design, and determine the most cost-effective completion designs. • Built comprehensive geoscience database in Access for DJ Basin to be used with ArcGIS, Petra, and PowerBI from the ground up using disparate data sources from Drilling, Completions, Reservoir Engineering, Reserves, IHS, and public domain data. Extracted, QC, transformed, normalized, managed metadata for all incoming datasets and reconciled discrepancies across alternate data sources. • Used Power BI and ArcGIS to create dashboards and reports which normalized, analyzed, and evaluated data to inform future drilling plans, completion designs, vet acquisitions, and prepare divestiture packages. • Designed ETL tool with Excel, VBA, and Access to streamline the front-end data update process so I can spend more time focusing on analyzing the data. • Used database geologist inputs to create 511 Testimony for the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which included written testimony and supporting exhibits. • Created sets of isopach, structure/surface, density porosity, and resistivity subsurface grids/maps with ArcGIS and PETRA using geologists inputs and normalized LAS data for areas of interest as needed across the DJ Basin and the Niobrara/Codell structures. Used maps to plan well layout, streamline drilling activities, vet acquisitions, and prepare divestitures. • Created and maintained type curve database using for the Reservoir Engineering team in Aries using Access, SQL, IHS data.
Maintained comprehensive horizontal well databases in Access and SQL for the Eagle Ford, Powder River, and Williston basins, which included normalization of completion parameters, well parameters, geologic parameters, and production for all horizontal wells. Extracted, transformed, and loaded data from state websites, FracFocus, and IHS Enerdeq. Built, maintained, and published Frac Trends Viewer for clients and potential clients with customized interactive dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Online. Cultivated strong understanding of metadata management, developing, and versioning of dashboards using multiple data sources, modeling, action filters, parameters, calculated fields, multiple comparisons, joins, data blending, and dashboard actions. Migrated and merged separate databases from Access to SQL so that data from activity locations across the US could be efficiently updated, modeled, and analyzed in a single dashboard. Completed localized horizontal well production studies using multivariate analysis and Tableau data visualizations to assist completions engineers and clients in determining the most cost effective and efficient frac designs. Analysis also used in co-authored SPE publication.
Used ArcGIS 10.0 to map long range drilling plans (20 years) for approx. 200,000 lease acres and 3,000 horizontal wells, including (proposed) wellbores, surface locations, facility locations, pipeline, while adhering to offset well, section line, wildlife, and domicile setback regulations Used ArcGIS 10.0 to map short range horizontal drilling plans (1-3 years), populated all systems with proposed well designs – Petra, Petrel, Generwell, and Spotfire. QC and load all data from operated and non-operated offset vertical wells, including surface and bottom hole locations, production, well logs, rasters, gyros, directional surveys, and plats Created localized, and basin-wide GOR, EUR, subsurface structure maps for optimal well bore placement Assisted in implementing ArcSDE to insure all groups in the business unit were using the most up-to-date data
