Jennifer has extensive experience with coding for both physician and hospital services. Prior to joining HCPro, Inc., she worked for Health Partners Investments, LLC. a medical practice management company, as a Lead Coder where her duties included coder training, auditing and coding for all new specialty physicians and served as back-up coder for all other coders during vacations and back-log. Jennifer was also a Coding Consultant for Coding by the Numbers where her duties included coding for in-patient services on an as needed basis. Most recently, Jennifer served as an instructor for HCPro's Coding Boot Camps and Codercise classes, educating both inpatient and outpatient coders. Jennifer works with hospitals, medical practices and other healthcare providers on a wide range of coding-related issues with a particular focus on coding education. Jennifer is accredited as a Certified Coding Specialist by the American Health Information Management Association. She is also accredited as a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Professional Coder- Hospital by the American Academy of Professional Coders. She is also an approved Professional Medical Coding Curriculum Instructor (PMCC) by the American Academy of Professional Coders. Jennifer currently serves as the Second Yr. Communications Director for ILHIMA and President-elect for SILHIMA. Jennifer served as President of her local chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders in Oklahoma City for 2007. She is currently a member of AHIMA’s Action Community for e-HIM Excellence (ACE) program, which collects the top HIM professionals and makes them available for a variety of volunteer activities, tackling diverse HIM interests and issues. Jennifer is an approved AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer. Jennifer holds both Associates in Health Claims Management & Medical Assisting from Davenport University in Granger, Indiana. She is currently working for her Bachelor degree in HIM.
