Enabling knowledge and information to be accessible for every user ranging from geek to my non-technical parents (bless them), has always been a passion of mine, even when I did not realise it in the early part of my career. I help clients improve their knowledge sharing, collaboration tools, and processes in their organisations. I've done this using a variety of means, including information architecture and requirements gathering workshops, end user interviews, and user stories. I've been involved in every step of the roll-out process from the requirements stage through to user experience (UX) design, development, installation, configuration, customisation, support, and on-boarding/training. I gathered many of these skills through research and real-life applications over the past decade. I'm always looking for more effective ways to understand the end user and how to make their professional lives easier. I really enjoy the process of talking to the end user and working with them towards an awesome result! Specialties: collaboration technologies, requirements gathering, business process mapping, project management, user experience, information architecture, web development, training, process improvement.

In a small-medium sized company, there were plenty of opportunities to performs roles and tasks outside of my main consultant role. * Resourcing and Planning (March 2014 - March 2015) I was responsible for working with my counterpart in our US office to effectively plan projects for the global team, which at the time spanned approximately 16 consultants. As a result of our efforts, the team was able to work more efficiently and we were able to predict with more accuracy any bench time consultants may have. * Services Billings (partially from mid-2014, fully from January 2015) I am responsible for organising the billing each month for the global services team, which on average requires approx. 60-80 invoices to go out. Since I began doing this task, I have improved data accuracy in our systems and processes so that the billing period has gone from over a week down to 2 days. This enables our finance team to close the books for the month more quickly, and therefore management to have accurate revenue numbers sooner. I am also the internal product manager of an in-house billing tool. I manage the roadmap of features for this tool, as well as perform the role of sprint manager for the continuing development for the tool. * Project Management (ongoing) Aside from managing my own projects, I also manage other concurrent projects which I am not involved in at a technical level, usually overseeing multiple resources or a challenging aspect to the project. * Internal Process Improvement (ongoing) I have been involved in improving processes for presales, customer onboarding, internal billing and time tracking, sales products, project management, and knowledge sharing within the organisation.

Applications of these projects are wide-ranging, from intranets to knowledge portals to product documentation, external-facing websites, and process tracking. As part of this role, I also participate in presales meetings and presentations, as well as writing up sales "Statement of Work" proposals for potential work. The Maritime Security Group focused on innovative research into all aspects of maritime security. One of my major responsibilities was to maintain visualisation and modeling capability for the Port Research and Security Laboratory (PRSL). * Assisted in experimental activities such as trialing sonar equipment in Sydney Harbour as a joint exercise with the AFP. * Explored potential sources of geospatial information and ways to use this information in combination with accessible software tools to enhance visualisation capability.
COMAUSATG is the command centre of an Australian amphibious task group, which may consist of a fleet of ships and typically involves all three military forces (Navy, Army, Air Force) and their equipment. I worked in a team that explored or developed new and innovative technologies that will aid COMAUSATG with their complex duties. * Preparing and running simulations for virtual experimentation with JSAF (i.e. war gaming), involving COMAUSATG and international counterparts in a real-time exercise * Gathering requirements and developing prototype for helicopter scheduling tool for amphib ships. This involved end user meetings with a large number of officers across the three forces, as well as an observer's role on a naval ship in a week-long naval exercise near Townsville.
