My background in cargo aviation, public diplomacy, and building bridges between strategy and execution gives me the altitude to think long-term and the traction to get results fast. Together with my operational co-lead, Mathieu Sérafimoff, we built SkyForge to be lean, hands-on, and unapologetically effective. We don’t just advise. We act. I co-founded SkyForge together with Mathieu Sérafimoff, a razor-sharp operational strategist and trusted execution lead. We built SkyForge as the consultancy we wished existed—lean, bold, and uncompromisingly real. SkyForge isn’t here to coast or theorize. During the first 3 months of my stay in Montreal, I had the pleasure to perform an unpaid internship at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium in the city. The Consulate General in Montreal is, joined with the embassy in Ottawa, part of the Belgian diplomatic representation in Canada and the only Belgian consular post in the country. As a result every Belgian citizen falls under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General making it the largest Belgian consular post situated at the east coast of the American continent. My daily work was focused around drafting and composing reports for the department of Foreign Affairs in Brussels and organizing visits / events. - On the subject of reporting, I mainly dealt with the local press and Belgian national interests in the province of Québec. Additionally, I was in charge with composing reports for the meetings with the European Consulate Generals in Montréal. - On the subject of organizing, I was in charge with the planning the visit of Flemish Minister for Culture, Youth, Media and Brussels; Sven Gatz as well as the organization of several networking events. In June, I was called back in order to organize and support the visit of Prime Minister Charles Michel. As some minor responsibilities, a third and fourth tasks focused on aiding the permanent staff in their daily consular work and representing the Kingdom of Belgium during events, seminars and lectures.
My first employment was a continuation of my time as a student worker with the department for Financial Monitoring of Projects and Contracts, division of the Central Financial Services of the Catholic University of Leuven. The department for Financial Monitoring of Projects and Contracts is responsible for the administrative and financial follow up and reporting of a major part of the nationally and internationally funded research projects of the Catholic University of Leuven. The department represents an estimate annual sales volume of approx. € 120,- million. During my employment I was responsible for a number of objectives; - A multi-partner European research project (containing over 30 partners, all foreign universities) coordinated by the Catholic University of Leuven. I supported the research-administrator in charge of processing and screening the financial documents. This task was done in preparation and finalization of the final financial report, including the external audit. - European 'ERC'-projects, containing very strict rules with respect to the eligibility of costs. I mainly performed tax adjustments and prepared the financial reporting in SAP and was in charge with collecting documentary evidence in view of the audit of the financial reporting by an external audit firm. - National Fund for Scientific Research (FWO), one of the most important financing instituions fo research at the Catholic University of Leuven representing an annual € 55,- million in sales volume. I was in charge with the preparatory analyses in Excel, setting up new research projects in SAP and collecting documentary evidence in view of the audit of the financial reporting by an external audit firm. As side projects I was in charge with drafting meeting reports, minor ICT work and organizing social events for my co-workers.
