Built a React SPA and reusable component library to modernize the WooCommerce admin dashboard with a focus on new merchant onboarding, and sales reporting. Implemented designs from Figma, used Storybook for prototyping and documentation, verified functionality with React Testing Library, and A/B tested workflow optimizations. Enhanced screen reader accessibility, introduced Puppeteer for end-to-end testing, improved API endpoint performance, added extensibility for third party developers, and built a background job processing system for large scale data imports. Audited source code as part of the technical due diligence process to acquire MailPoet.
Led a team of six engineers through the launch of WooCommerce Shipping and growth to a profitable product handling 18M requests per month to 220K unique users. Expanded shipping rates and label printing to international destinations and increased the accuracy of the box packing algorithm. Built and launched WooCommerce Tax - an automated tax calculation SaaS.
Designed and developed WooCommerce Shipping - a SaaS platform for quoting real time shipping rates and purchasing shipping labels through WooCommerce stores. Wrote Node.js API to select packaging using a box packing algorithm, retrieve live shipping rates, purchase shipping labels, and handle payments with 100% unit test coverage and extensive end-to-end testing. Used React.js to integrate rate quotes and label purchasing into the WooCommerce merchant dashboard and to build internal reporting, monitoring, and customer support tools.
Demonstrate the agency's development capabilities to prospective clients, fielding technical questions, estimating levels of effort, and preparing RFP responses during the new business process. Represent the development team as part of leadership, working with the VP of Finance, Publishing team lead, and User Experience team lead to determine overall team goals, improve processes, and identify potential product opportunities. Manage all developers on team (ranging from 4 to 6 total), leading performance reviews and facilitating professional development. Led development of Bloomberg's project to unify their publishing platform using WordPress, powering Bloomberg Business, Bloomberg View, and Bloomberg Politics.

Led development of the Big Ten Network's redesign and migration to WordPress VIP. Was instrumental in creating a digital magazine publishing platform utilizing a "headless" WordPress setup for Bloomberg Businessweek. Built RESTful API on top of WordPress for use in an iPhone application. Mentored new employees, participated in code reviews, and screened job applicants.
Inherited a Property Management application written in PHP4 and updated codebase to PHP5. Performed administrative duties including upgrading PHP and Apache core and modules, and providing application customer support. Developed new features using PHP, Perl, Korn shell scripts and Sybase database procedures. Introduced interactive debugging and code profiling practices.
