I also participate in an out of hours standby rota and take part in storm escalations when required to do so.
I reported to the outage manager for two districts. I organised programmed work on the LV and HV systems up to and including 33kV.This covered all aspects of network operation from street lighting, overhead line and underground cable construction, diversion and refurbishment, tree cutting and plant maintenance. I responded to faults and participated in an out of hours standby rota and storm escalations.
This role was set up to provide a fast action response to faults and emergencies across the LV and HV distribution network. I gained a lot of system knowledge and interacted with customers on a daily basis.
