I originally was going to be the next great sports broadcasster but my love for working with children and helping them develop into not just great students, but great people lead me into educaiton. I love what I do and I give everything that I have each day. I expect nothing but the best from each child that I work with and the end results are always great. I don't do anything by the book and I have been told many times that I am unique and as real as it gets. My students know eveything about me and my family, and this just adds to the learning environment. Just to add to all of this I have a collection of over 5000 wrestling action figures from all over the world.
I helped start the neighborhood program at Skinner West School when they moved into their new building. I was the first teacher in the program and I have helped establish the success and development of the program. I am still teaching kindergarten there and love every minute of it.
I started as a neighborhood first grade teacher but helped start the gifted program at Andrew Carnegie. I helped put together the curriculum for the gifted students and continued to push each of them well beyond their potential. I spent the last eight years there teaching the gifted first grade class.
I helped develop the curriculum for the different classes that I taught that were geared toward gifted students. Some of the classes that I helped develop and teach were the wonders of water, learning about our weather, broadcasting, developing skyscrapers, and thinking outside of the box with math. The classes that I taught ranged from the preschool level to the 3rd grade level.
I taught second grade at Roy School. I was trained in Guided Reading and gifted education while I was in District 83.
I was a first grade teacher at Arcadia School for four years. For two of those years I had special education students main streamed into my classroom.
