Team lead within the Information Services Department, managing all aspects of IT network routing and switching infrastructure, phone system and voice radio network.
Responsible for the day to day operations and upkeep of the IT IP network, to include routing, switching, and cabling.
As an IT consultant I have assisted numerous small businesses in the Knoxville area grow technologically. I have assisted them with everything from desktop support and server integration to cabling and rewiring communications closets. No job is too small and no job is too big.
While at the City of Oak Ridge, I was fortunate enough to be able to work on a wide variety of things. Some of which include all of the 3Com and Cisco equipment (switches, routers and wireless access points). I was also responsible for the migration of a large part of the server fleet from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000, including the introduction of Active Directory. While at the City I developed a love for all things networking, as part of that I was able to design and reconfigure multiple communications closets. A few large projects of note are: • Design and assist with installation of 3Com Wireless Bridge solution connecting multiple buildings 10 miles apart • Migrated entire company from statically assigned public IP space to private IP space being assigned through DHCP with NAT • Planned and implemented SonicWall firewall and VPN solution • Planned and implemented 3Com NBX IP telephony system across multiple locations • Designed multiple applications that utilized PHP web front ends or Access DB front ends, with MS SQL back ends
Local technician for Fusion Broadband, supporting multiple apartment complex's networking needs, including internet connections, switch maintenance and troubleshooting, along with any needed repairs. This extended into the living spaces used by residents.
