Supporting the KC-10 CLS Program
Assigned to the engineering team to design the CNS ATM modification for the KC-10. Designed solutions to complicated system engineering issues saving weeks of redesign and schedule delays. Created the Hardware Interface Design Document (HIDD) for the KC-10. This document was used by the sub-contractor to generate installation diagrams and technical manuals to support the modification and long term support of the aircraft. Provided oversight of the sub-contractor during the prototype installation of two aircraft. Accelerated the scheduled engineering check out period from 3 weeks to 5 days to bring the prototype aircraft back on schedule to start formal ground testing on time. Provided subject matter experience during formal ground testing to maintain schedule. Provided support during flight testing to prepare aircraft for test flights. Aircraft had a 94% availability rate only missing one scheduled flight. Subject Matter Expert on the KC-10 during production, providing installation guidance, troubleshooting assistance to ensure a quality product was delivered on schedule.
