I teach and mentor the Owners and Managers of small and mid-sized businesses in “Management Finance” and progressive management techniques - methods, systems, controls and productivity-based incentives. Process Manufacturing is an API, 4F-certified multi-million dollar steel fabricator in the oil and gas industry, focusing on the production of drilling rigs (land rigs). I was engaged to help turn the company around. The task was accomplished in three years – a complete reorganization of the company, the mission of the company and the finances of the company. As CFO I was the President’s direct report, advisor, confidant, sounding board and representative in all aspects of company activities, including legal actions and responsibility for leasing and property management. Within the modern definition of the role of the CFO, I assumed a strategic role in the overall management of the company. In addition to the traditional responsibilities of a CFO, I participated in, and often initiated the decision making process at the managerial level and provided managers with real-time analysis of the financial implications of their options.
