About

The role of the Chief Financial Officer is to help prepare and execute the strategic financial plan. It is much more than crunching numbers and reporting the news. In today’s world, the position of CFO requires a strong, experienced individual, with a world view that is anchored in the humanities as well as in finance. Entrepreneurs are different; if they weren’t, they wouldn’t be entrepreneurs. I teach and mentor the Owners and Managers of small and mid-sized businesses in “Management Finance” and progressive management techniques - methods, systems, controls and productivity-based incentives. You can do it right; you can be successful, and it can be fun again.

  • CFO at Process Manufacturing Corporation
    Jul 2011 - Aug 2014 · 3 yrs 2 mos

Process Manufacturing is an API, 4F-certified multi-million dollar steel fabricator in the oil and gas industry, focusing on the production of drilling rigs (land rigs). I was engaged to help turn the company around. The task was accomplished in three years – a complete reorganization of the company, the mission of the company and the finances of the company. As CFO I was the President’s direct report, advisor, confidant, sounding board and representative in all aspects of company activities, including legal actions and responsibility for leasing and property management. Within the modern definition of the role of the CFO, I assumed a strategic role in the overall management of the company. In addition to the traditional responsibilities of a CFO, I participated in, and often initiated the decision making process at the managerial level and provided managers with real-time analysis of the financial implications of their options.
