Jean Paul is a leader with a global mindset. Experienced in international business and law (Baker & McKenzie, partner and lawyer competition policy), international politics (European Union, representing the Netherlands) and global education (Webster University, rector Webster Tashkent campus, Webster Tbilisi Campus and Webster Leiden campus). He is passionate about change and believes in the power of positive thinking. Jean Paul has a strong focus on strategy and creating a more sustainable future. He loves building diverse teams in a global setting, as a key to success and more fun. He is adamant about inclusive leadership, trying to inspire others to reach new heights. Since 2025 he is located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and rector of the Webster Tashkent campus with more than 7000 students and 450 staff and faculty members.
Overall responsible (strategy, budget, marketing, recruitment) for leading the only – private - American university in the Netherlands. About 350 students from over 45 countries. Key quality is providing global learning experiences in small classrooms. Taking pride in having distinct personal attention for our international students. Close cooperation with the main campus in St. Louis and other international campuses around the world. Since the summer of 2024, I have been appointed as rector of Webster University Georgia, Tbilisi campus. I am dividing my time between the Netherlands and Georgia.
