I hold a PhD and MA in Applied Linguistics from Nanyang Technological University. I obtained my BA from the National University of Singapore and my DipEd (Postgrad) from the Institute of Education (NUS). I focus on applied linguistics research related to ESP/EAP spoken discourse, multimodal discourse analysis, and interdisciplinary studies. I'm currently an Assistant Chair at SoH, managing communications and community engagement-related matters, and am the Editor-in-Chief for SoH's biannual publication, Constellations. I actively contribute to education programmes in Singapore, such as serving as a speaker and judge for MOE Engineering & Tech Programme Scholarship events and NTU Social Innovation Entrepreneurship Programmes. I also train budding entrepreneurs in business pitching skills in various innovation and entrepreneurship workshops, such as IdeasJam. Currently, I serve as a Harvard Business Review Advisory Council member, an opt-in research community of business professionals to help shape the future of HBR content ideas. In AY2019/2020, I won the Lecturer Excellence (LEX) Award which recognises my contributions to teaching at NTU. Over the years, I have served as a curriculum leader, developer, and course coordinator for Engineering Communication courses. I served as Chief Examiner for the NTU Entrance Examination (NEE) in English Language from 2020-2023
