- Lead the MHRIS area inclusively - Manage and mentor 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 7 lecturers in Management, Human Resources, Strategy, and Information Systems - Lead and develop two undergraduate concentrations (Management and HR, and Information Systems) with a total of 315 students, and involvement in multiple graduate programs (MBA, MS in Business Analytics, MS in Accounting) - Oversee the hiring, retention, development and evaluation of tenure-track faculty and lecturers - Manage and develop the discretionary budget of the MHRIS area - Advise students and clubs in the area - Develop and maintain contacts with the industry - Develop international exchanges and initiatives - Support and inspire a vibrant research culture in the MHRIS area - Collegially participate in the management of the Orfalea College of Business through participation and leadership in the Area Chairs' and Dean's councils - Promote the maintenance and evolution of an excellent learn-by-doing curriculum - Coordinate and schedule classes in the MHRIS area
Jean-François Coget is an Associate Professor of Management at the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in California, where he teaches Management. He earned his Ph.D. from the Anderson School at UCLA, his M.Sc. in management from HEC Paris, and was also a faculty member at HEC Paris. His research interests include emotions, intuition, and charismatic leadership. His overarching professional goal is to create and disseminate actionable knowledge that can help managers-citizens to organize a productive, creative, ethical, and sustainable cooperation among people.
