Worked on several other projects throughout my time as a software engineer, including: 2020: Consulted on two Code for America projects in North Carolina: a campaign finance database and an app for COVID-19-related services in the Research Triangle. 2018-20: Created a Java simulation for a “High-Low” card game that a start-up will sell to an electronic gaming company. 2018: Worked on front- and back-end engineering for a Python/Django platform for resources for immigrants in Chicagoland. 2016: JUST Where They Stand - Conceived, designed, and built an interactive grid web application where users can find a presidential candidate's stance on certain issues. Wrote and compiled summaries from a number of sources. Built the app for desktops and tablets using Ruby on Rails and Javascript, and then modified it for mobile devices.
For Metlife GTO in Cary, NC — worked on a team that moved DB schemas from one Linux server to another and migrate to Informatica. Updated ETL, UNIX, Maestro components accordingly. Worked as a full-stack software engineer in the Artificial Intelligence & Analytics practice.
Held part-time job while working on Master’s coursework. Assisted the Program Evaluator in creating the Annual Performance Report for Fiscal Year 2016 for the University of Chicago’s chapter of Upward Bound. Created new procedures for maintaining, updating, and navigating the office’s BLUMEN database.
