After nearly 26 years with Ameritech, SBC Communications, and AT&T, I retired from a career dedicated to building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and restoring the communications networks that connect homes, businesses, and communities. Throughout my career, I worked across multiple generations of telecommunications technology, supporting the evolution from traditional copper and voice services to advanced broadband, GPON, XPON, and fiber-optic networks. My experience includes telecommunications infrastructure, fiber-optic technologies, network diagnostics, service restoration, customer operations, and field support. I have extensive hands-on experience with fiber and copper network troubleshooting, fusion splicing, OTDR testing, TDR testing, Visual Fault Locator (VFL) diagnostics, Viavi OneExpert testing platforms, Tempo Sidekick testing platforms, GPON and XPON technologies, FTTP, FTTH, broadband services, DSL technologies, and legacy POTS networks.
