Designed and implemented an environmental monitoring project. Managed permits, field work, data collection, budget, and reports. Coordinated with a number of organizations to ensure all necessary data was collected. Field work included reconnaissance of field sites, water quality monitoring (flow, pH, metals, turbidity, and more), fish biodiversity studies using various capture methods, and habitat assessments.
Wrote an extensive literature review on the American eel with recommendations for the best culvert modifications to improve eel passage. Installed culvert modifications on several culverts acting as barriers to American eels.
Assisted in maintaining the safety and security on school campus by helping anyone in need of assistance. As well as disarming potential hostile or dangerous situations in a professional manner.
Working under the supervision of my professor designing field and lab experiemnts to explore the diversity and abundances of various aquatic fungi. Identification of these fungi are performed using a microscope and key characteristics. As well as from a genetic approach of using PCR and sequencing techniques to identify species based on their unique DNA sections.
