I have more than 26 years of post-graduate work experience covering PMC, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and maintenance in the field of Instrumentation and Control equipment related to the Oil and Gas Refinery, Onshore gas oil separation, offshore and utilities industries. More recently I am involved as Principal Control System Engineer for Lyondellbasell Europe wide and INEOS Project one based in Belgium managing EPC stage of project and handing MAC (Main Automation Contractor) for the supply and engineering of ICSS system for Ethane Cracker and Utilities. I also worked as Control and Instrument (ICA) Engineer PMC role with Jacobs for London Tideway project. I worked with Wood as PMC for 7 years as a Lead Instrument engineer in Al Zour Refinery in Kuwait and as Lead Design Engineer - Instrumentation for Manifold Group Trunkline Project for 2.5 years involving Pre commissioning and commissioning, EPC Contractor document review and approval, factory acceptance testing and ensuring compliance to Client Standards. I was involved in site based testing, commissioning and office based detail design of instrumentation systems in the Onshore and Offshore projects. Drive the EPC contractor by providing clear guidance and facilitating resolution to issues to complete Instruments & Controls engineering activities. I have strong leadership qualities to drive the contractor to efficiently execute the I&C scope of work keeping in mind the stakeholders expectation. Extensive experience in field of Instrumentation and Control system during FEED, EPC for onshore and offshore project including FPSO/LNG. Preparation for datasheets, specification for various systems including ICSS and Field instrumentation. Ability to act as Lead for various packages and efficient coordination with other disciplines within the project. I have excellent communication skills at all levels. I have experience in all stages of project lifecycle for instrumentation and control systems.
Working as Lead Instrument Engineer for a FEED project for offshore Wellhead Platform for Kent with end client as TotalEnergies. Managing a team of Engineers and Designer to deliver FEED deliverable which include Field / ICSS Specification, Datasheet, Instrument Index, Instrument I/O, ICSS Architecture, ICSS Sizing, cable block diagram, cable routing layouts, material takeoff, power and heat dissipation calculations, Cybersecurity Specification, producing safety requirements specification, attending LOPA and review of SIL Assignment report.
Working at Principal Instrument and control Engineer for Brownfield project for client LyondellBasell based in Europe. The project involves fired heater (Furnaces and boilers) safety instrumented system modification based on Process hazard and operability analysis report. This involves identifying risks and closing GAPs and implementation of actions identified. This project involved concept, pre feed, FEED and EPC stages to be executed in a phased manner. Acting as lead for 2 major sites in Germany for furnace survey, creating index, MTO and engineering and procurement of equipment that involved field instrumentation and ICSS modification in consultation with site operations team.
Working as Principal Control System Engineer for “INEOS Project One” based in Belgium managing EPC stage of project (in Wood offices) and handing MAC (Main Automation Contractor) for the supply and engineering of ICSS system for Ethane Cracker and Utilities. Part of responsibility is coordinating and producing Engineering deliverable for the configuration and engineering of ICSS system comprising of BPCS, SIS, FGS, MMS, Sub Systems like IAMS, DAHS, etc, virtualization of 3rd party packages, network architecture, cybersecurity lifecycle management. This involves producing deliverable for sizing the control system with hardware and software freeze milestones e.g. I/O summaries, data exchange with MAC for field instrumentation using SPI, review of detail design specification, managing waiver request, technical queries, MAC drawing review and approvals. Witness and approve FAT and SAT until handover to client. Coordination with client and multiple disciplines on project and managing interfaces with other EPC contractors on the same project to integrate their control system with Main ICSS system.
Working on London Tideway project for the design and construction of 25 km super sewer under Thames upto 65 m deep, connecting at 21 intercepting combines sewer outfalls to prevent sewer polluting the river thames during storm. Overseeing design and development of control system involving central control room and interface with 21 sites along river thames with process equipment and its instrumentation involving PLC, UPS, distribution panel, telemetry panel and field instruments. Conducting factory acceptance testing, Site acceptance testing, commissioning, document review and managing quality assurance of design deliverables against project / and client standards. Managing EPC Contractors and the project in terms of HSE and Technical Assurance.
Working as an ICSS Specialist Engineer for Al Zour Refinery Project, the largest Oil Refinery in Middle East. Responsible for Package 5 Marine Facilities which involves Construction and Commissioning of Sea Island Loading Platform (17 Km off the coast), Small Boat Harbour and Sulfur pallet shiploader and conveyor system Modules on the berth and jetty. Successfully completed two major project for KOC along with LSTK Contractors for the gathering centres for the gas oil water separation plants and Manifold system (16 nos) with full DCS Controls and Safety Systems commissioning and hand over to Client.
