I am a final year student from Ngee Ann Polytechnic studying aerospace engineering (mechanical). Since young, I have been curious in the way airplanes fly and how they work. During my internship at Collins Aerospace, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, engage in quality assurance processes and contribute to innovative projects. This experiences has honed my skills in quality management systems, root cause analysis and process improvement. I'm always open to connecting with anyone and exploring new opportunities. Through this internship, I have gained a number of skills. 1. Discus (For the purpose of going digital and upskilling the staff) 2. Microsoft excel (For exporting the FAI into excel due to the classification being military) 3. Microsoft powerpoint (Presenting data neatly and clear for the audience to view) 4. Communication (Talking to inspectors, team members, supervisor) 5. Time management (Getting priorities for urgent tasks at hand) 6. Learning how to use a surface analyzer machine (For Gage R&R) 7. Problem solving skills (Critical thinking, 5Whys, 5S, etc.) Project work involved in: Digital FAI (Collins Aerospace Singapore) Results: Increased submission of First Article Inspections (FAI) digitally and also trained the inspectors on how to use Discus & Net-Inspect. Achieved cost savings for the company by reducing the number of paper printed along with saving the environment. With this skills gained, I would apply them in the future workforce and bring more ideas to the next company that I join.
