◾ Perform work in the shale shaker room, and carry out first line maintenance of all equipment used for mechanical separation of mud ◾ Perform daily cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance work on the drill floor, in the shale shaker room and as instructed ◾ Assist in mixing mud and chemicals and in keeping the mud logs ◾ Carry out regular inspections of the derrick and related equipment, and check that the derrick is free of loose objects ◾ Assist in the execution of routine maintenance and lubrication of the derrick equipment and other drilling equipment ◾ Inform superior/s regarding irregular situations within or near his area of work ◾ Make and break rotary connections using rig tongs, handle tubular goods, elevators and slips and operate semi-automated pipe-handling machines ◾ Perform other due work as ordered or instructed by the superior/s ◾ Handle drill pipes, casing and drilling equipment on the drill floor, and carry out first line maintenance on the equipment as instructed ◾ Perform work or assist and on deck in crane operations when instructed to ◾ Check out irregularities as directed by superior/s
◾ Assist with the maintenance of firefighting equipment and systems. ◾ Assist with the maintenance of lifesaving equipment and system. ◾ Assist with managing paint locker and paint inventory/paint accessories. ◾ In accordance with instruction from the superiors, carry out maintenance work (including lubrication, greasing, cleaning, and painting) on hull, superstructure, cargo gear and other deck equipment and machinery as required. ◾ Under the instruction of the Assistant Marine Section Leader/Marine Section Leader maintain, look after, and keep all the marine related equipment in good condition. This is not limited to: ballast tanks and system, bulk tanks and system, bilge system, drill water tanks and system, pot water tanks and system, and lifting gear. ◾ Assist the drillfloor crew with handling of casings and drill pipes as necessary, and assist in the mixing of mud and chemicals, when requested. ◾ Relieve Floorhand on the drillfloor during rests, illness, etc., when required. ◾ As directed, assist in loading/unloading cargo from supply vessels and helicopters, and in receiving or discharging supplies of fuel and bulk cargo. ◾ Assist with refuelling helicopters and update helifuel daily log. ◾ Member of helideck crew and helideck fire team. ◾ If Roustabout holds stage 2 crane certificate, operate crane alone for inboard lifting operations, for simple lifts as requested by the Crane Operator. ◾ Carry out other due work as directed by the superiors.
