A dynamic leader and an internationally renowned advanced manufacturing expert, specialising in the interdisciplinary domains of additive manufacturing, digital twins, and Industry 4.0. Currently, I serve as Professor of Additive and Sustainable Manufacturing at Buckinghamshire New University. Previouly, I was Professor of Manufacturing & Product Design, Director of the Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing (2SM) Research Group, and REF 2029 UoA 12 Lead within the Department of Engineering at Birmingham City University. Prior to this role, I held the position of Associate Professor/Reader in Digital Manufacturing within the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University, where I led several research initiatives focused on advanced manufacturing technologies. Since 2017, I have secured over £7.2 million in external funding from Innovate UK, British Council, Erasmus+, Interreg North Sea Region, KTP, and KEEP+. Majority of my work has been in collaboration with industrial partners where I have successfully delivered impactful and innovative projects leading to patent applications, derogation claims, and commercial value in the form of new products and services. I am a highly effective and competent leader who has consistently delivered on various fronts. These leadership roles include leading research funding applications, lead author in peer-reviewed publications, REF 2021 Co-Convener for UoA 12 (2016-2019), School Representative for Athena SWAN (won the Bronze award in 2019), Faculty Representative for Professional Experience Group, and organizer for Engineering School research seminars. Some notable accolades from my career are as follows: - Won the Vice Chancellor’s Award in the 'Outstanding Knowledge Exchange Collaboration' category for exceptional contribution to ARU's corporate ambitions (2023). - Won the Faculty of Science & Engineering Dean’s Individual Award in the ‘Research and Partnerships’ category for impactful research activities with industrial and academic collaborators (2022). - Won the ‘Best PgR Supervisory Team Award’ for my PhD student (First Supervisor) at the 2nd Annual Postgraduate Research (PgR) Awards 2022 organised by Anglia Ruskin University’s Doctoral School (2022). - Won the Vice Chancellor’s Award in the 'Outstanding Research and Innovation Established Researcher' category for exceptional contribution to the university ambitions (2021). - Won the ‘Top Reviewer Award’ for the Journal of Materials (2017).
