A highly motivated and experienced IT professional, proficient in infrastructure, storage, networks, Microsoft 365 E5 suite deployment and support with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and proven technical ability, seeking a challenging new role.
Key Responsibilities: • The technical design for all infrastructure and storage server infrastructure core products and services • Identifying and recommending development methodologies and frameworks for the Council’s database and storage infrastructure, including the overall design, structure, and technologies to be adopted • Overseeing and quality assuring future changes and strategic development of the infrastructure and storage services • To plan, design, implement, operate and optimise the infrastructure and storage infrastructure with regard to security, capacity, performance, and cost through a continuous process of monitoring, health checks and management reviews in order to specify equipment & software purchases, upgrades, and replacements • To ensure the infrastructure and storage services are physically secure, ensuring compliance with PSN, PCI and other required standards, and that controls are in place preventing unauthorised access to systems and data • Developing the medium-term infrastructure and storage development plan for the products and services, contributing to the technical strategy, and overarching digital strategy • Lead technical research and development activities for the products and services, guiding technical teams in building proof of concepts and with the undertaking of risk assessments • Ensuring the plans and processes are in place to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements for the critical products, including backup and recovery • Providing technical expertise across a varied infrastructure portfolio, acting as the SME within the Digital Architecture team for the following: Dell Enterprise SAN Storage (PowerStore) MS SQL Server Infrastructure Hardware Refresh & Consolidation Cloud Server Migrations Microsoft 365 E5
