About

About me: I am an independent and motivated bioinformatician, with a passion for genomics and data-analysis. I enjoy working on projects that challenge my creativity and problem-solving skills. My main work experience revolves around building, deploying and maintaining multi-omic pipelines. As a bio data scientist at renovarocube, I worked at both the engineering department, as well as the bioinformatics department. This cross-functional role allowed me to develop a unique blend of technical and research expertise. On the engineering side, I gained hands-on experience building scalable and maintainable DevOps and MLOps pipelines, ensuring workflows were robust and easily deployable. At the same time, working with the bioinformatics team taught me how to properly conduct scientific research and data analysis. From helping to think out and set up experimental designs, to interpretating the results to gain new biological insights. I believe this combination of engineering and bioinformatics experience has helped built a strong foundation for tackling any type of genomics projects, and I am eager to apply these skills in any interesting and challenging field of research

Experience

  • Bio Data Scientist at GEDiCube
    Sep 2023 - Sep 2025 · 2 yrs 1 mo

  • Stagiair at Kenniscentrum LCAB - Hogeschool Leiden
    Sep 2022 - Sep 2023 · 1 yr 1 mo

As an itern, my project revolved around using advanced nanopore applications, such as adaptive sampling, to enrich toxin genes within samples. A pipeline and website were build to monitor and store the results in real-time. Lastly, a metagenomic pipeline was added to the website to allow for the real-time identification and quantification of species within sample data.

  • Stagiair at Leiden centre for applied bioscience
    Sep 2020 - Sep 2021 · 1 yr 1 mo

The project revolved around automating the analysis of gc-ms data of herbs and spices (data cleaning, peak detection, peak identification) and building a website where users could analyse and compare data samples (browsing, data clustering, differential analyses)
