I am a BS Biology graduate majoring in Microbiology with research interests in Industrial Microbiology, Fermentation Technologies, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, and Microbial Taxonomy. My work experience and education provided me with the relevant skills in various microbiological techniques and particularly in research. From these acquired skills, I decided to work in the field of Phycology, study of Algae, specifically on Diatoms, and undertake my undergraduate thesis entitled "Selection of High Ethanol-Producing Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strain for Single- and Mixed Substrate Fermentation of Low-Ethanol Yielding Molasses and Cassava Starch Hydrolysate".
Assigned as PTA III of the DOST-PCAARRD project that aims to establish biological water quality index, using diatoms, for Philippine rivers, which will contribute to fisheries and environmental conservation.
Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) is one of the oldest and most respected academic honor societies with over 1 million members and 300 chapters worldwide. Annually, the society sends out invitations to students who have shown exemplary performance in their academics and demonstrated superior love of learning in their respective fields. Only the top 10% of the graduating class and the top 7.5% of the junior level are eligible for the nomination.
