As a Drill Rig Mechanic at Engineers and Planners - GOLDFIELDS, I focus on preventive maintenance and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on Sandvik DPi 1500 Pantera drill rigs. By adhering to safety protocols and conducting routine inspections, I contribute to the efficient operation of drilling equipment. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah' University of Science and Technology, I have developed strong expertise in technical maintenance and engineering. My work reflects a commitment to enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency through precise diagnostics and adherence to industry standards.
Conducted preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on Sandvik DPi 1500 Pantera drill rigs. • Ensured efficient operation through daily maintenance tasks and routine inspections. • Diagnosed mechanical issues and replaced worn components while adhering to safety protocols.
• Carrying out Preventive maintenance as well as troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on the Sandvik DPi 1500 Pantera drill rig. •Ensured efficient operation of drilling machines and executed daily maintenance tasks. • Conducted routine inspections and performed maintenance on engines, pumps, compressors, and drilling tools. • Diagnosed and resolved mechanical issues, replacing worn-out components as needed. • Adhered to strict safety protocols and industry standards in all maintenance activities.
Ensuring efficient operations of the machines and implementing daily activities of the maintenance department. • In charge of carrying out all tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in terms of safety, quality, and reliability. • Assisting in developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program and also carrying out periodic preventive maintenance has been carried out on all equipment in the factory as per OEM recommendations per the maintenance schedule. • Reporting all mechanically inclined people to operate and maintain other machines, maintenance activities, and spare parts requirements regularly to the maintenance supervisor.
Performed preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on the cocoa processing machinery that had poor asset health reports and reviewed all work orders, follow-ups, QPM, PMs, and CM’s activities. • In charge of performing monitoring operations for preventative maintenance that involve the use of ultrasound and infrared technologies such as NDT Testing techniques determining the wear of ball mill vessels and ascertaining that the right measures are taken afterwards (Infrared Thermography). • Reliability tasks' planning and scheduling taking into consideration the labor, plant material availability, job priority and the equipment availability. • Conducting oil level checks and inspections on gearboxes used in the various departments, performing top-ups, and changing them per the work order assigned to the task on lubrication machines. • Took part in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings and aided in the understanding of some of the damaged assets' primary.
I collaborated closely with my supervisor and other mechanical technicians, offering them technical support and helping them run equipment both inside and outside the plant. Continuous use of the existing tools helped me implement new ways of working with the equipment or machinery available in the plant. Participated in a Kaizen initiative with the mechanical plant mechanic to reset ball mills in the roasting department.
