How-to guides for junior lawyers | Construction lawyer

About

When I started out, most of the junior lawyer career advice was really hard to apply. A lot of "you should get a mentor" or "attention to detail is important" without explaining HOW. Usually from the super successful partners who were awesome from day 1 but couldn't relate to the average lawyer looking for help. Now that I鈥檝e been working for a few years - I鈥檓 in a position where I鈥檓 still learning, but can also pass on practical tips to newer lawyers in a relatable way. So I created www.practisinglaw.com.au to share the how-to guides and resources that I wish I had access to when I started. Here's what I write about: 馃敼 Actionable career advice for young lawyers in the workplace - from basic stuff like how to ask for leave, to longer-term thinking like how to develop a reputation as an expert in things you find interesting. 馃敼 The many pathways for the modern lawyer to succeed - by excelling as a project manager, salesman, mentor, leader, technologist, copywriter etc. 馃敼 The struggles that new lawyers commonly face and how to overcome them. -------------------------------------------------------------------- If this is the sort of stuff you're interested in - the best way to stay updated is to follow / connect and click the 馃敂 on my profile. Otherwise, there's the stuff on my website (and a mailing list signup there too).
