Jason has over 20 years of experience in the London market and wider Industry working for leading International Insurers and Brokers. Although he has been involved across many disciplines, the bulk of his experience has been in managing and resolving large and complex technical claims in a Leading capacity, often from notification to resolution. These have included many Petrochemical and Engineering issues, Construction risks, and both Upstream and Downstream energy risks, including Nuclear. Most recently however Jason has concentrated in the growing area of Renewable Energy, building and training a team of claims handlers across Europe to deliver excellent technical claims responses to Builders and Operators of all renewable technologies (Biogas, Biofuels, Solar PV, Solar CSP, Waste-to-Energy, Small and Large Hydro, Geothermal and Wind (both Onshore and Offshore). The novel nature of these risks has necessitated close working across all teams; Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control, Actuarial, Public Relations and Legal to deliver bespoke insurance solutions. As Portfolio Manager for RSA’s Global Renewable Energy Book, Jason was involved in risk review and catastrophe modelling, as well as developing robust technical guidelines for underwriting in this highly specialised discipline. Insurance Wording and individual Clause reviews were often undertaken and commentary generated on likely impact on policy coverage and loss severity. Together with colleagues in Copenhagen, Jason was involved in product development and protocols to deliver bespoke claims handling models to speed up notification and response times, and collaborative work across teams to generate robust loss resolution strategies in Offshore Construction Risks..
