Executive IT leader providing strategic guidance by balancing innovation with a realistic approach to advancing technology by integrating vision with infrastructure and overall mission of the organization. It's important for any organization to focus on what, why, who, and by what means they will deliver technology. I focus on the following 4 areas. People. By investing in our talent we are able to provide opportunities for our most important asset to develop and sustain the skillsets necessary to not only endure but to proactively manage ever changing technology. We are in a period where technology has seen tremendous growth over the past 5 years. We have to educate our staff to be prepared to tackle technology as it exists today and provide the insight into how they will manage it in the future. Plans. Aligning organizational technology objectives with overall strategic vision, while aggressively managing increasingly limited technology budgets. The days of maintenance are a concept of the past. Proactive planning while delivering realized value through projects is the concept of the now. This is achieved by truly aligning business and technology – we are one with aligned vision and mission. Customers. Understanding your customer base and more importantly customer needs, then aligning them to your delivery. This concept sounds simple but as any leader knows this is one of the most challenging aspects of managing a successful IT organization. My strategy involves listening, communicating, prioritizing via demand management, delivering, and learning (by listening again). Risk. Simple – whatever we do proactively manage risk. Everything has a risk factor, it’s my job to prioritize and mitigate any technology risk to the organization.
