I currently work as a Fire Technician within the fire protection industry, with a strong focus on contract management, compliance, and client servicing. My responsibilities include: •Servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers in accordance with current fire safety legislation and industry standards •Managing large-scale contracts for key clients including Stryker and Abbott, ensuring all safety equipment and services remain fully compliant •Coordinating and scheduling daily work for other technicians within the company, providing oversight and support to ensure efficiency and quality •Quoting and pricing both major contracts and smaller client requests, working closely with management and procurement teams •Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing guidance on fire safety requirements and communicating essential updates to ensure ongoing compliance •Supporting the business in operational planning, job allocation, and client relationship management In addition to my technical responsibilities, I have taken on increasing ownership of operational planning and contract oversight. This nationwide role has strengthened my ability to manage diverse client needs, coordinate remote work efficiently, and plan around regional logistics. These experiences have sparked a strong interest in project delivery. I am currently preparing to begin a formal Project Management certification, with the goal of transitioning into a more structured project coordination or management role. I’m particularly interested in opportunities that combine my hands-on industry experience with team leadership, client communication, and project planning.
Worked as a front-line social worker within the Child Protection and Welfare Team, supporting children and families experiencing a range of complex and high-risk situations. This role required strong communication, decision-making, and multi-agency coordination skills. Key responsibilities included: •Managing an active caseload of over 30 children and families, involving both short-term interventions and long-term case management •Conducting home visits, welfare checks, and comprehensive child protection assessments in line with national practice standards •Preparing detailed case notes, chronologies, and court reports to inform legal proceedings and internal decision-making •Giving professional evidence in court regarding safeguarding concerns, care planning, and recommendations for statutory involvement •Supporting children in care placements and maintaining consistent engagement with foster families, schools, and support networks •Organising and chairing family meetings, strategy discussions, and child-in-care reviews, ensuring child-centred planning •Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Gardaí, education, mental health, and community-based services •Responding to emergency situations involving children at immediate risk, including arranging out-of-hours placements and safety interventions •Ensuring all practice was compliant with Tusla policy, national legislation (Children First), and professional ethics This position demanded a high level of resilience, organisation, and professional judgment. I developed strong skills in working under pressure, managing sensitive information, engaging with resistant clients, and balancing risk and protection — all highly transferable to roles involving stakeholder management, planning, compliance, and frontline operations.
Took a short-term career break to relocate to Dubai for personal and professional exploration. During this time, I broadened my cultural awareness, expanded my global perspective, and reflected on my long-term career goals. I returned to Ireland with renewed focus and have since actively pursued opportunities aligned with my experience and future ambitions.
Within this role I worked as part of both the Duty and Child Protection and Welfare teams. As part of this I co-worked cases with my practice teacher along with an individual caseload consisting of ten families. During this time, I carried out numerous assessments through home visits and over the phone along with completing the relevant assessment forms. In addition, signs of safety were used throughout my fourteen weeks and my three houses, words and pictures were used when appropriate. I also attended professional meetings and childcare conferences to provide input regarding cases I had worked on. Both group and individual supervision was attended on a weekly basis.
Within this role I have worked as a member of a multidisciplinary team involving a range of different clinicians. I have also worked with families therapeutically through weekly family sessions. I partook in various groups that were ran within Eist Linn. I also co-facilitated a wellness recovery action plan group and a couch to 5k group for the young people. Other work included report writing, writing case notes, attending professional meetings and case conferences, child protection referrals and in-house training. I demonstrated my ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and with families and the young people.
