Mission-driven full stack product engineer passionate about using technology to make the world a better place. Specializing in delivering smooth UX and robust features using modern design principles and tools, and the latest front end frameworks. At the moment using Figma, Django, and Vuejs, with experience in React and Ruby on Rails. I have 6 years of full stack experience building end-to-end features and running user research interviews. I'm a problem solver at heart, and I use code, user research, and a collaborative mindset as my tools to solve problems.
Product Engineering at Parse.ly was responsible for the development and maintenance of our web app, used by companies like Conde Nast, Bloomberg, and Vox. An auxiliary responsibility of my team was product ownership over the features we built, driving product direction through user interviews and collaboration through Figma. I owned and shipped production-scale features using Vue.js, Django, Postgres, and Elasticsearch including: * A headline testing feature that allowed users to serve different headlines to different users to try to find the best-performing one * A report that surfaced the lowest-performing content for the month * A benchmarking screen that allowed users to see the performance of their content compared against each other over time * Integrations with Google Search Console and Google Discover that surfaced the best-performing articles for each service
Internal engineering team that focused on automating account management for support staff, allowing for bulk account edits, specifically to add and remove feature flags to large customers (e.g. Conde Nast with 600 individual accounts). Also joined customer support calls to provide technical perspective and explain larger technical concepts to users who are onboarding to the product. Shipped internal features like: * Feature flag automation, allowing support staff to add and remove features to multiple accounts with one operation * Conversion tracking automation, allowing support staff to create, edit, and delete premium tracking configuration for customers, eliminating the need for customer-side engineering resources to update tracking, leading to lower time-to-value for customers and lower maintenance costs for staff * Conversion onboarding flow that helped support staff explain and integration conversion tracking more efficiently, cutting conversion integration time in half
As a Customer Support Engineer, I was Parse.ly's client-facing technical resource. It was my job to be the technical voice during client calls when customers had questions about their integrations. As a SaaS company, customer support is a large part of our business model, and I was the person who joined support alls with clients and helped them find answers to their questions about how to use our product. I also provided advanced integration support when customers purchased premium features like our conversions tracking, which required extra setup that I oversaw, using a process I designed, refined, and implemented for future members of the team. Responsibilities included: * Identifying common customer problems and constructing new processes or documentation to fix them * Joining onboarding/integration kickoff calls to explain and advocate for the product * Triaging and escalating issues deeper technical issues to core engineering for investigation * Building customer loyalty through regular support and onboarding calls to provide white-glove technical support
