As Events Officer, I had the pleasure of working with various teams in the MedTech society committee in organising one-off events such as a talk with MiREXES, our AI in Medicine conference, and also writing and recording our first ever podcast episode on the use of AI platforms to access health information. Working alongside a very passionate committee, I learned the importance of forward-planning, taking initiative and teamwork which I hope to apply to my future career as a doctor and a scientist.
I immensely enjoyed my role as Mixed Team Captain. I felt privileged to be able to share my favourite hobby with my fellow teammates, inspiring them to try their best but more importantly, have fun, at every match. I learned that being a good leader not only means being decisive and having a well-rounded perspective on the group, but also being a caring, approachable companion for my teammates.
