Founder of Empath Centres, a new model for mental health recovery, reintegration and opportunity. Empath was created to address one of the most overlooked gaps in modern healthcare: what happens after a person leaves hospital. While acute services are designed to stabilise people in crisis, millions are left navigating the difficult journey back into work, education, relationships and community with little structured support. Empath bridges that gap through a holistic approach combining clinical recovery, life skills, coaching, physical health, nutrition, creativity, purpose and pathways into employment. The vision is simple but ambitious: Restore dignity. Build capability. Create opportunity. My work is shaped by lived experience. Following nearly eighteen months across NHS mental health units, I witnessed both the extraordinary potential of the people inside those walls and the systemic barriers that often prevent recovery beyond them. Empath was born from the belief that mental health challenges are not solely medical issues, but also social, economic and structural ones. Today, I am building the foundations of Empath Centres through partnerships across healthcare, property, policy and social innovation. The goal is to create a scalable national model that helps people rebuild their lives, reduce dependency, and contribute fully to society. Areas of focus: • Mental health reform • Recovery and reintegration • Social innovation • Community and workforce development • Regeneration and place-making • Conservation and sustainable food systems • Storytelling as a catalyst for change I believe the future of mental healthcare must treat people not simply as patients to stabilise, but as citizens to rebuild. Empath exists to make that future possible.

  • Author of The Born Trilogy | Memoir, Political Reflection & Global Vision at The Born Trilogy
    Oct 2020 - Present · 5 yrs 9 mos

Author of The Born Trilogy | Memoir, Social Commentary & National Renewal I am the author of The Born Trilogy — a three-part literary project that moves from personal collapse to national renewal and, ultimately, a broader vision for human flourishing. Book I — A King Is Born A modern British memoir told through the lens of mental illness, love, institutionalisation, friendship, loss and recovery. Part psychological odyssey, part social commentary, it follows one man's journey through psychiatric hospitals, extraordinary encounters, and a search for meaning in the aftermath of personal collapse. A story about rebuilding a life when everything appears lost. Book II — A Nation Is Born An exploration of how Britain might renew itself through dignity, responsibility and opportunity. Drawing on lived experience, social enterprise and systems thinking, it examines the future of mental health, community, work, conservation, culture and regeneration, centred around the ideas behind Empath Centres and The Crown Fund. A vision for rebuilding institutions by rebuilding people. Book III — A World Is Born A broader reflection on how the principles of dignity, healing, stewardship and purpose might extend beyond national borders. A search for common ground in an increasingly fragmented world. Themes My writing sits at the intersection of memoir, social commentary, politics, mental health and mythic reflection. It seeks to give voice to people from every walk of life — from boardrooms to psychiatric wards, from palace gates to homeless shelters — and to explore what connects us beneath status, circumstance and identity. At the heart of The Born Trilogy is a simple belief: Every life matters. Every life carries potential. Every life is capable of renewal.
