Time goes by, and the roles and challenges are changing. The experience remains, and the interests and focus areas are today quite a lot different than during the past 40+ years. I’m happy to announce here in my network, that finally I´ve retired and my current position is a full time pensioner. Focus is tightly in family and hobbies. Over the years in my career I’ve been honoured to meet fantastic people from all the continents, from collaborators and competitors to customers and colleagues. It has been a privilege to work with you all, so a big thank to all of you.
Having worked one year as Senior Advisor closely with the CEO, he asked me to take the role of COO in this fascinating SaaS company.

Continuing IoT collaboration facilitator. Several concrete and business relevant assets explored and identified, future steps pending on Nokia Technologies strategy decisions. In Industrial Internet domain standardisation landscape investigation and Nokia Tech role clarified. Driving ecosystem building option investigation for QKD (quantum key distribution) business opportunities with internal and external stakeholders.
Exploring Nokia opportunities for industry collaboration programs, coordinating SIM evolution discussions with key operators & SIM vendors, initiating Nokia opportunities and risks analyses for EU roaming regulation change, driving technology collaboration opportunities with Nokia’s key mobile operator customers and operator association GSMA, Orchestrating successful Joyn (RCS) contract between Nokia and GSMA. Marketing and Sales manager for Connectivity Solutions opportunities exploration within Nokia devices units, Awarenet as the main responsibility. After Microsoft divestment completion screening and seeking customer engagement opportunities for Connectivity Solutions technologies licensing business outside Nokia focusing on IoT and industrial internet. Nokia Technologies Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager from 1/14 onwards. I orchestrated establishment of operational plans and internal policies, processes and practices with employee reps and HR when establishing OHS functionalities for Nokia Technologies after MSFT divestment.
Supervising all Nokia’s radio access standards participation, resourcing and funding to enable successful position in standards. Initially in the front line first, later organizing and steering/chairing related content creation programs for standards contributions. Collaborative (together with NSN, NRC and device Nokia) resourcing, funding and strategies definition and their implementation was under my responsibility. 4G (LTE) development stage where close collaboration with key industry players (operators, regulators and device, chip and network vendors) was the key to successful and timely conclusion of related standards.
