About

I work at the intersection of design, spatial systems, ecology, and complex environments, developing concepts and structures that connect human experience with environmental and technological realities. Trained as an interdisciplinary designer at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, I began my professional path at the experimental design office HyPe Arc, collaborating with architects and artists including Wes Jones Partners, Duncan Nicholson, James Turrell (Goldstein Residence / Skyspace), and Brooks + Scarpa. This early experience shaped my understanding of architecture as spatial experience, cultural instrument, and systemic framework. In 2005, I founded b-05, an international art and design institution that transformed a former Cold War NATO site in Germany into a peaceful interdisciplinary platform for art, architecture, and environmental dialogue. As director (2005–2013), I led projects across architecture, landscape, and cultural programming, exhibiting artists such as Matthew Barney, Werner Herzog, Ai Weiwei, Donald Judd, and Bridget Riley. The institution gained international recognition for its experimental and cross-disciplinary approach. Since 2014, I have worked within architectural practice while continuing independent research and development in product design, adaptive systems, and spatial experimentation. This includes Hydra, an ongoing exploration of adaptive hydraulic suspension and responsive mechanical systems for vehicles, mobile structures, and dynamic platforms. My current focus areas include ecological resilience, conservation-oriented design, mobile and experimental structures, expedition and off-road systems, and performance-driven outdoor product development — particularly in kiteboarding, where aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, material science, and environmental conditions converge in real-world application. I am open to opportunities across Europe and internationally that integrate design, engineering, sustainability, conservation, research, and education. I believe in holistic, cross-disciplinary approaches and in using design as a tool for responsible, long-term impact.
